Wooden Elephant

 

My friend gave me this wonderful puzzle as a wrap gift, and we had a great time assembling it together!

I'm pretty certain it's from China, as there is no brand label on the box or insert at all.  Still, its a nice wooden puzzle with whimsy pieces that fit together well. The pieces came in an organza baggie with ribbon closure inside the box, and there is an poster that accompanies it, even though the full image is printed on the box.  It's a low piece count, but colorful and beautiful image that is intricate enough to be challenging.  Just the right size for a quick mental break at work!

 This is the first of three puzzles that my friend gifted me.  I look forward to doing the others.

SunsOut "Lazy Afternoon" by Terry Doughty

Now that school's out for summer, Landon is blowing through his puzzle stash!  This SunsOut 100pc puzzle was a fun quick project for him, at 7" by 9".  Artist Terry Doughty created a whimsical scene of a bear lazing on a tree branch.  Even outdoors, Landon is using his brain power to solve puzzles. 

Ravensburger "Beautiful Ocean" by Mark Gregory

Ravensburger Puzzle's "Beautiful Ocean" has a tranquil scene above and below the water, by artist Mark Gregory.  Landon was able to complete this 100 piece puzzle on his own.  The finished puzzle measures 19 x 14 inches and was copyright 2012.  Another thrift store complete find!

Ravensburger "Pirates' Treasure" by James Talbot

Landon completed this Ravensburger puzzle on his own.  At 100 pieces, it was not difficult, but the pirate scene was imaginative!  The finished puzzle by artist James Talbot measures 14 1/2 x 19 1/3 inches.  It is copyright 2006.  This was a thrift store find.  To think this puzzle is thirteen years old, we were lucky that it is complete!

School's Out for Summer!

....and Landon has time to puzzle!  Landon's graduated first grade, looking forward to second grade in the fall.  He'll turn 8 years old in July.  Summer holds a weeklong baseball camp, weeklong golf camp, a visit to family in Texas, and lots of fun escapades with his mom!  The first of those escapades was visiting a cat cafe to play with all the resident kitties.  Next up is Landon's first concert at the Hollywood Bowl (KidsBop).  His birthday party this year will be at a lasertag facility.  

These two puzzles came from Landon's personal stash, so I don't have the stats to report.  But stay tuned for more!

Milton Bradley "4828-4" Vintage 1968 Junior Jigsaw Puzzle

This is such a fun, vintage junior jigsaw puzzle.  It's copyright 1968!  Box is in decent, if not excellent condition, and all 100 pieces are complete.

Hasbro MB Puzzle "Junior Puzzle 1" by Renee Stockdale/Ron Kimball

This vintage puzzle is one of my favorites that Landon has completed!  I love the graphic colors in the 100 piece puzzle, and of course Landon loved the kittens!

SunsOut "A Friend in Need" by C.M. Coolidge

Another fun and quick postcard-sized puzzle with a classic image.  I'll be taking pics of the dogs with this one sometime soon.

Another 100 piece Star Wars puzzle.  This one complete!  Cardinal is great for having so many licensed Star Wars designs.

This 100 piece was a thrift store find and is missing a piece, so it won't get sent along to anyone else.  Landon had fun with it though, so that's all that counts!

Fink & Co "Everyone Needs Their Own Spot" by Mary Engelbreit

This one couldn't be more apt for me.  I bought it off ebay because I liked the image, but didn't realize it was so small.  I may yet glue this one for my bedroom wall, or I may wait till I can find a poster sized copy.

Puzzle Bug "Beachy Pooch"

Landon and Ellen have both done the same puzzle at separate times!  This Puzzle Bug 100 piece puzzle came from Dollar Tree and is the perfect puzzle to usher in summer.

Melissa & Doug "Pirate's Bounty" Floor Puzzle

This pirate puzzle was a 100 piece floor puzzle by Melissa & Doug.  Landon banged out several floor puzzles on the same day.

I did this puzzle while I was babysitting for a regular client.  I thought the kids might join in, but turned out I did it alone.  I gave it to Landon to try afterward.  Bought at a dollar store, new in box.

Yet another Star Wars puzzle, this thrift store find was missing three pieces but Landon had fun with it anyways.

A quick 100 piece puzzle containing Landon's favorite animal, cats!
